One of the issues I am concerned with is - how can we utilize technology to transform the landscape within the inner cities as it relates to the educational policies with regard to educational funding, curriculum, and the disciplinary mandates that are in place within the schools? Additionally, how can we transform some schools from being a gateway to prison, to becoming a gateway to entrepreneurship and innovation?
I think it is important to answer the question of “how” before we can understand the question of ‘why”. Because if we are not interested in the “how” then there can be no genuine resolve for addressing the “why”. Poverty is, in my humble opinion - a social, economical, and political design. I do not believe it is inherent to a particular culture, but more so a design with a determined means to an end. |
